How was the collaboration with StareReap?

I usually create works that can be categorized as video works. Thus this is the first time for me to collaborate with a printing technology such as StareReap, but in fact, I have always had the desire to bring images to life in three dimensions.

In my conception making, I could not separate the story of Pygmalion and Galatea in Greek mythology. (Note: Pygmalion, the king of Cyprus, was so desperate for an ideal woman that he sculpted his own female statue, Galatea. As a result of his continued sculpting, Pygmalion fell in love with Galatea. This refers to the myth that Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, who was worried about Pygmalion's weakening because of his desire for the statue to become human, gave life to Galatea then she and Pygmalion became together.)

In my practices, especially I like the dress motif in my work. This might be influenced by the fact that my parents were women's clothing designers. Thinking of my parents, I tried to find my own form of "love". I usually work on the computer when creating artworks. I was genuinely grateful that the image created by 0 and 1, which can never be touched in a display was given birth phisically thanks to StareReap and brought out before my eyes in real life.

As an artist who creates art work digitally, StareReap is a tool that allows us to expand their range of expression. I am particularly attracted to the possibility of fetish expression for example skin textures or various fibers of fabrics.

The work particularly impressed me the most was the one that combined vacuum molding technology and StareReap. It was extremely challenging, and there were times when I found it hopeless as we tried prototypes over and over again.

However, thanks to the perseverance of the printing director, we were able to create the work.

Perhaps one of StareReap's uniqueness is that they have printing directors who are engineers for the software - in other words, the data, and also the hardware engineers who maintain the printing machines.
